The Talbiyyah

One should immediately commence reciting the Talbiyyah aloud from the time of Ihram in all places including the Masjid Al-Haram and Masjid Mina. However, in other mosques the Talbiyah should be recited only loud enough to be heard by the people in one’s vicinity.

A pilgrim should continue reciting the Talbyyah until on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah when he commences throwing Jamrah Al-‘Aqabah. The person performing ‘Umrah should continue to recite the Talbiyyah until he commences the Tawaf.

The Talbiyah is recited whenever one climbs a hill; descends a valley; gets into a car or out of it; when one meets others; at the end of the prayers; and at dawn.

Each occasion of the Talbiyyah is concluded with reciting the salat and the salam on the Prophet (s.a.w.s) and supplication for the forgiveness of Allah, His pleasure, and emancipation from the Fire
