Miqat of Times

These are the appointed times set for performing the Hajj activities. Any activity of the Hajj, outside these appointed times, is invalid. Allah has explained the Miqat of Time. He says in the Glorious Qurān:

"Hajj is [during] well-known months, so whoever has made Hajj obligatory upon himself therein [by entering the state of ihram], there is [to be for him] no sexual relations and no disobedience and no disputing during Hajj. And whatever good you do, Allah knows it. And take provisions, but indeed, the best provision is fear of Allah. And fear Me, O you of understanding." Al-Baqarah 2:197

The well-known months/times for the commencement and performance of the Hajj are the 10th, 11th, and 12th months of the year, i.e. Shawwal, Dhul Qi’idah, and [the whole month of] Dhul Hajj.

‘Umrah may be commenced and performed at any time within the year, as no specific time has been set for it.
